Elsa Knobloch was born in Ancash, Peru. She grew up and studied in Lima, the capital of Peru, and graduated with a degree in Accounting and Finances. She also studied acting at the Peruvian Theatre Center. Elsa worked in the marketing department of one of the largest companies in Peru also while working in several genres of theatre and participating in her university’s acting troupe. She immigrated to the United States in 2001. During her first years here, she worked at a Hispanic Center and later at a local credit union where she specialized in financing as well as giving classes in her field. She discovered early in her time here her love of Peruvian food. She has participated as a food vendor at different festivals selling her home country’s dishes.
